Cendol Agar Agar

I made this some years before and had not done so for a while. In between then and now, we usually get our fix from our favourite Peranakan food stall at Bukit Timah Plaza. It’s called Nonya Delicatessen. It is a small little kiosk kind of place with limited seating but endless queues. Those of you who are in this area would definitely know of this place.

Anyway, I thought I should try my hand at making this again. So I went searching round for my recipe but I could not locate it. Was a little jittery but managed to find a recipe on the blogsphere. If you are interested, here is the blog. Thanks to the author, a very amazing cook who resides in Malaysia, going by the name of Wendy, I managed to get down to making my agar. My version is a little different from Wendy’s as I really prefer my brown layer to be translucent than milky. So I modified it a little. On top of that, I also tried to replicate the version that we get at Nonya Delicatessen by adding in some red beans.

Right now the agar is cooling. And I really can’t wait to sink my teeth into it. But first, here are some photos.
